Høvåg Kirke NAC-29

None of my ancestors worshiped in the Høvåg church, but it is the home congregation of my cousin, Magda Eide Jessen, whose husband, Vidor, passed away last month. His obituary follows this article, but I chose this topic because he wrote about the church's history. He was an authority on the subject since he was the dean (vicar's assistant) of the church who would act when the vicar was absent. He was also the chairman of the church council and, for an extended period, the churchwarden, responsible for the church building and yard, among his other duties. To honor him, I wanted to write an article on the church, including its fascinating legend.
