We just returned from a cruise to Alaska and had an enjoyable time. In this age of jet travel, we can complain about 3-6 hour flights within America and 14-hour flights from Los Angeles to Oslo if you can get a direct flight. We complain about the lack of legroom, added fees, and airplane food. However, our ancestors would have gladly taken our place if given a chance. When my Huseby family came in the 1870s, and my Haakinson family came in the early 1900s, accommodations had improved as each decade passed, but coming to America was not a pleasant journey for our ancestors.
