I have written a few articles about tunnel engineering feats in Norway, including this one, but when I saw the rendering below, I had to share it with you. Once completed, it will halve the travel time between Stavanger (Norway’s fourth-largest city) and Bergen (the second-largest city). That is quite a feat, given the current travel time of over 21 hours. The tunnel, known as the Boknafjord Tunnel, is 16.5 miles long and travels 1300 feet below the surface of a wide fjord.
