Nykirken in Bergen NAC-12

I always knew that my grandparents, Abel and Synneva Haakinson (Thormodsæter), were married in Bergen, Norway, on August 26, 1910, and set sail to America four days later. However, my cousins, Jakob and Randi Thormodsæter, recently informed me that my grandparents were married at Nykirken (New Church). Nykirken is located on a street called Strandgaten that runs the length of a peninsula across the bay from Bergen’s famous Bryggen. The church backs up to the waterfront.
