The Fedje ancestors originated in a rural village known as Feios along the southside of the Sogne Fjord in western Norway. The name Feios means the delta of the river. The Feidje or Fedje family lived near where the river meets the fjord and ran commercial-type boats for many years. The Huseby and Fedje families are both descendants of Arfinn Nilsson Suphammer and Ingeborg Pedersdatter Hanehaug.
