When I talked with my mother about her Lutheran church heritage, it was much different from mine and what I found in Norway. Her changed perspective was partly as she became an adult. However, her thinking was always more like a Baptist than a Lutheran. Ultimately, she left the Lutheran church to find something similar to her upbringing. However, what was the church like when she was growing up, and why?
