Leprosy NAC-93

Just to mention the disease, leprosy, shivers would run up and down the spine of those in ancient times. To contract it meant certain banishment, shame, and disfigurement. In many societies, they ended up in leper colonies, whereas in Europe, a monastic order cared for them in a lazar house. In the Bible, Jesus went against the cultural norms of society and healed ten lepers. However, before they could reenter society, they had to show themselves to the priests to prove they were clean.
