Norwegian American Humor NAC-40

Despite my wife's opinion that Norwegian-American humor is a myth, it is alive and well. But what does she know? She is mostly English, and what do the English know about humor? For many Norwegian Americans, humor is part of our genes. Honestly, I know that for the unfortunate few, the gene is missing, and jokes, puns, play on words, and storytelling fall frustratingly flat. I remember my ten-year-old son listening to a bunch of us dropping one-liners left and right when a blonde tried to jump into the fray with a joke, and no one got it. Quickly, he turned to me with a poker face and said, "Dad, even her roots are blond." Yes, some have it, and those just don't.
