Americans cannot even begin to fathom what it must have been like for a nation to be invaded and conquered by a foreign power, but that is exactly what happened on April 9, 1940, seventy-five years ago this month. Without warning, Nazi Germany marched into neutral Norway and subjected it for five long years. Most Norwegians never talked about the atrocities they suffered.
