DNA Testing - Part 1 NAC-44

With fear and trepidation, I venture into talking about Deoxyribonucleic Acid or simply DNA. Just the word sends shivers down my back, as everything I have read has been so technical, and I never was that great in biology. While DNA is most often associated with forensic science and tracking down criminals, it has become an excellent tool in connecting people with distant cousins and identifying ancestors. It can also determine the tendencies for genetic diseases and disorders. DNA codes are passed down from generation to generation, with siblings and cousins sharing many of the same markers. However, the more distant the relationship, the less common markers they are likely to share.
