Edward Perkins MCF-21

Writer's picture: Nelson HusebyNelson Huseby

Our Perkins family descended from the Perkins of Ufton Court in Reading, Berkshire County, west of London. A portion of the Ufton Court was initially built in the 15th century. This Elizabethan manor house was the home of Sir Richard Weston (also in our lineage through the Cook-Parmater line). He was an esquire (armor bearer) to King Henry VIII, governor of Guernsey Island in the English Channel, treasurer of Calais, France, and later the Sub-Treasurer to the Exchequer. Unfortunately, his son had an affair with Queen Anne Boleyn, which brought about her downfall. Both were beheaded by the order of her husband, King Henry VIII.
