Family Lineage Back to the Kings of Norway NAC-105

As a child, I was constantly reminded by my Aunt Agnes that we were 100% Norwegian Americans. While all my ancestors came to America from Norway, I quickly found out in researching the family back to King Olav that there is no such thing as a "pure breed" if you go back far enough. Even though the Haakinsons are direct descendants of Olav II, King of Norway, the family lived in Germany for three centuries, then Denmark for three centuries before returning to Norway in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Other lines in our family tree probably have deeper roots in Norway, but our descendants through King Olav are, in fact, relative newcomers to Norway.
