As a genealogist, or as I refer myself to as a “family historian,” I am always looking to the past to find my ancestors and, if possible, their stories. We often forget that our lifetime is full of stories that I believe must be preserved. Yes, there is oral history, where we disclose stories of our family members to their prospective mates, hoping to embarrass them. Still, I think that these stories disappear in time leaving our descendants wondering what life was like in the “olden days.” Friends, those olden days are now for future generations.
