Jasper Crane was born in 1608. He may have been the son of Richard Crane of Welwyn Parish, Hertfordshire, England. There were also branches of Cranes from Cheshire and Chilton, England. He is believed to have sailed to America on the Arbella with John Winthrop in 1630 and lived for a few years in Boston.
