There are two unrelated Clarke lineages in our family tree, one on the Cook side. But this article focuses on the one on the Miller side. Both families settled in Rhode Island but came from different regions of England. So they are not related, as far as I can tell. This has been a challenge to be able to separate the two lineages. Hopefully, I got it right. Where I spotted inconsistencies, I left out that information, which makes this article incomplete if I am wrong in my assumption. But I would instead stick with what I believe is correct.
