Nathan Parmater Diary Pt 3 MCF-25

This final part of Nathan's diary begins with a well-deserved leave of absence. He left Virginia for home on July 25. 1863. He traveled again through Washington, DC, and spent the day "bumming around," before taking a train to Harrisburg. On July 30, he found himself finally in familiar territory. There he received a telegram that indicated that his leave of absence would be until August 4. His brother took him by horse and buggy to Geneva, Ohio, where he began visiting his friends.
