Richard Gale MCF-89

Richard Gale was born in 1618, but we do not know where he was born (we assume England) or who his parents were. Many have speculated that he came from the Counties of Suffolk, Essex, or Devon. Many had hoped to find that he had a close friendship with the prominent Winthrops because John Winthrop, Jr. married him and his wife, Mary Castle, on July 16, 1640, in Watertown. But that is mere conjecture. Some have thought that he may have traveled to America as a kid through Barbados. But again, that cannot be substantiated.
