The Millers of Macungie MCF-48

Writer's picture: Nelson HusebyNelson Huseby

Not much is known about the Miller family when they were in Pennsylvania. They were German immigrants, but I am stuck when Jakob Miller was the last Miller going back in history. Do you know how many Jakob Millers were in Central Pennsylvania in the 1700s? I probably have an incomplete list with 41 of them. I know that David S. Miller was born on January 16, 1794, in Lower Macungie Township in Lehigh County and that his parents were Jakob and Christina or Elizabetha Miller. David was baptized at Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, originally called the Church of the Holy Trinity. The church site is located just north of Alburtis in Upper Macungie. The Millers worshipped there because Macungie did not have a church until a century later.
