Everyone in America is familiar with Barnum, Bailey, and Ringling Brothers Circuses with their clowns, animal acts, and high-wire performances. However, in the early 1900s, small towns in the Midwest that could not attract large circuses were entertained by dog and pony shows. As would be implied by the title, the shows included trained dogs and ponies along with various acrobatics as the primary attractions. One such show was the Millers Dog and Pony Circus, owned by George and Maude Miller.
