William Reade was born in 1587 in Brocket Hall at the northern end of Hatfield in Hertfordshire, England. This is located about an hour north of London. He was the son of Sir Thomas Reade IV and Mary Cornwall and the grandson of Thomas Reade III and Mary Brocket, daughter of John Brocket III, Lord of the Brocket Hall manor.
