In writing these articles, I have wanted to focus on various aspects of our shared heritage and how it has influenced us. However, when discussing legacy, we often forget that those living today are tomorrow's heritage. Therefore, from time to time, I like to highlight what our cousins are accomplishing today.
Erin Leif, daughter of Rick and Jean (Haakinson) Leif, has worked with autistic children since 2003 when she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts. Degrees in psychology do provide many job opportunities. So, when a friend told Erin that the New England Center for Children was looking for teachers, she jumped at the chance to work for such a prestigious organization. There, she got the vision for working with children with autism.
