St. Sunniva and the Norwegian Saints NAC-45

For example, my wife's mother was Clella, and her aunts were Arnetha, Merla, Enid, Lenise, and Vernice. If we dug deeper into her history, there was Freelove, Mehitable, Bethiah, Wilbroe, Temperance, and Tamar.

On my side of the family, my grandmother was Synneva. I never liked that name because the first syllable was "sin." So, when I was upset with her as a child, I thought she was aptly named. But my heart softened when I found that she was named after the Norwegian saint, Sunniva (Sun-e-va), with its first syllable changed to "sun."
